GENTLE SHEPHERD MINISTRIES

History:  Following 20 years of pastoral ministry, God opened the door for Rev. Jerry David to become a chaplain at a nursing home/assisted living facility in Mankato, Minnesota. After serving in this capacity for several months, God did something to Jerry’s heart…God broke it over the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of the residents of these facilities. God began placing on his heart a vision for starting and/or supplementing ministries in senior care facilities throughout south-central Minnesota.   Concerning jail ministry, one day Jerry received a phone call from an inmate at a county jail asking if he would come and lead weekly Bible studies at the jail. Jerry believed God had opened this door of ministry, as well. Not only in this one facility alone, but in jails in need of volunteer ministry throughout south-central Minnesota.
